Caps end regular season with 5-1 victory over Rivermen
The Caps travelled to Miramichi last night to play the Rivermen in the last regular season game of the year.
The Caps skated to a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Daniel Bertrand and Dylan Breau. Dylan’s shot from the point turned out to be the game winner. The Rivermen closed the gap to 2-1 with a late-period goal on Caps goaltender Jeremy Wasson, but that was the only time they could find the back of the net during the game.
David Comeau and Daniel Bertrand (with his second of the game) scored in the second period to extend the lead to 4-1. Comeau added his second of the game in the third period to round out the scoring.
Nick Blyth took a puck to an unprotected part of his arm, suffering a deep bruise, and had to leave the game.
With the win the Caps regular season record finished at 7 wins – 13 losses – 3 ties, good for 17 points.
